Modern Style Wines made in the oldest wine region of France
The Tarn Valley lies just southwest of Bordeaux (no wonder it's so good for Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc). It was one of the first places the Romans planted their vines. They recognized the hillsides as ideal for vine growing. In fact, the Gauls had discovered that ages before them. On this historic ground, pioneering young winemaker Jean-Noël Barrau is today making exciting wines at the Rabastens cellar in the Gaillac region. He's found that bright sunshine and cooling Atlantic winds are ideal for the Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
