Castelbarry is the first cooperative that joined our team. What sets this cooperative apart is very strict quality policy imposed on its members in 1969 (19 years after the cooperative was formed). Quality policy includes farming organically, sustainably and maintaining low yield (Some wines are harvested at 35hl\ha which is quite impressive for cooperative winery). Based in Montpeyroux the winery was responsible for elevating status of the region into AOC in 1985 (Coteaux Du Languedoc Montpeyroux AOC). The name “Les copains” is a play on words “Coop” and “coopains” meaning friends or buddies.
