The Oldest Wine Region of Bordeaux

This AOC is one of the oldest wine producing regions in France, in large part due to its highly
trafficked location off the river and vine friendly soil. Historians date Côtes de Bourg’s viticulture
back to the Second Century where Romans planted “Vitis Biturica”, an ancestor of Cabernet.
Stunning-Value Bordeaux: To find good value Bordeaux is almost
impossible. But here is a prime example from the Cotes du Bourg – opposite Margaux and
up from Fronsac, St Emilion and Pomerol. Producing stunning-value Bordeaux, Château
Gelineau is still flying under the radar and is considered something of a secret. The estate has
been in the Bebot family for five generations.
