The Healthiest Red Grape

Tannat has been touted as the “healthiest” red wine grape, thanks to much higher levels of antioxidants (like resveratrol).
Located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, Benedictine monks have cultivated vines here since 11th century. Something new to try from someplace old.
Tasting Notes:
This blend of Tannat, Pinenc and Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the first Gascon vineyard replanted after phylloxera in the 1880s near the ancient monastery of Saint-Mont. The wine is juicy, ripe, and perfumed while seriously structured and dense. Black currant, Plum, licorice, cardamom, and vanilla.
