Van Ruiten Family Vineyards
Vines planted in 1906!!

Our winery focuses on sustainability and energy efficiency in the vineyard and winery. We erected nesting boxes for owls throughout our vineyards. The owls help keep the rodent population down without the use of poisons in the soil. Our family has one of the oldest vines of Zinfandel in Lodi planted in 1906! The Van Ruiten Family Vineyards started in 1948 when John Van Ruiten Sr. emigrated to US from Holland. In 1998, tired of selling his grapes to Napa producers for a low price, John and his children decided to begin making their own wine. Van Ruiten was one of the first grape growers in Lodi to shift to wine production.
